Ekometall aims to become a leader in the Austrian and European critical raw materials supply chain through the sustainable and responsible exploration, discovery, and development of critical mineral deposits in Austria. Our success in this mission will include cooperation and partnership with local communities and government authorities, delivering economic value to our stakeholders, including Austria and the region as a whole, and incorporating environmental and governance best practices in all the company’s activities.
Taking a systematic, modern exploration approach to an underexplored jurisdiction with a rich mining history and culture
Our company’s thesis is two-fold. First, we believe that the tectonic environment that formed the Austrian Alps is conducive to hosting significant copper and other base metal / precious metal deposits. Unlike the neighboring jurisdictions with similar geological environments, Austria has remained underexplored in modern times and is generally not well understood.
Secondly, we believe that due to the lack of geologic understanding and access to technology, many of the ore deposits that were exploited throughout Austria’s rich mining history are likely larger and more interconnected than what was initially understood.
These two assertions have led us to establishing a compelling project portfolio in Austria and warrant our further investment into the exploration of this jurisdiction.
