VIENNA, Austria – February 10, 2025 – Ekometall Exploration GmbH is pleased to provide the following developments related to the company’s projects, including the completion of its 2024 field season in East Tyrol and the company’s plans to design and permit an initial drill campaign to test the targets generated at Tessenberg.
Highlights
- Work at Tessenberg included historical data review and georeferencing of historical workings, geological mapping, rock chip sampling, soil geochemistry, and ground magnetics;
- Clear geochemical and geomagnetic anomaly detected over 1.8+ km surrounding the historical Tessenberg Mine, focusing on a potential copper / polymetallic VMS style lense;
- Ekometall plans to continue community engagement efforts in advance of the drill permitting process;
- Successful engagement in the Austrian work program permitting process and subsequent execution of a maiden drill campaign will act as an excellent proof of concept for Ekometall’s work in Austria.
Initial Field Work Completed at Tessenberg (East Tyrol)
Ekometall’s technical team completed the 2024 field season having worked between April and November 2024 to evaluate the exploration potential of the area nearby the historical Tessenberg mine, including the following work completed on site:
- Geological Mapping and Rock Chip Sampling
- Soil Geochemical Surveying
- Ground Magnetic Surveying
- Identification and Georeferencing of Historical Adits and Workings in the Area
Rock chip sampling revealed elevated concentrations of copper, lead, zinc, silver, and gold in certain areas within the project. The ground magnetic survey revealed an intense anomaly surrounding the historical Tessenberg mine, which could indicate the presence of pyrrhotite or magnetite, minerals typically associated with the targeted VMS deposit type. This, coupled with the anomalous soil geochemistry related to copper and other indicative elements, has allowed the company to trace this anomaly and potential target area over at least 1.8 km in an east-west direction and warrants further investigation.

Drill Planning Underway
Ekometall’s technical team is actively interpreting the anomalies generated from the 2024 field season to design an initial diamond drill campaign to test both the magnetic highs and geochemical anomalies within and outside the former Tessenberg mine area, including the sulfide material that has been noted historically. This plan will be presented to stakeholders and advanced through the Austrian Mining Authority’s work program permitting process.
An initial drill campaign at this site will prove out Ekometall’s ability to permit and execute exploration drilling in Austria and act as an excellent proof of concept for Ekometall’s transparent community engagement strategy and operational capabilities.
